पेट्रोलियम और प्राकृतिक गैस मंत्रालय (MoPNG) ने शनिवार (4 अप्रैल, 2026) को उन रिपोर्टों को खारिज कर दिया कि भारत जा रहे एक ईरानी कच्चे तेल के टैंकर को भुगतान के मुद्दों पर चीन की ओर मोड़ दिया गया था, जिसमें कहा गया था कि भारतीय रिफाइनर वास्तव में, ईरानी कच्चे तेल को सुरक्षित कर रहे हैं।
“मध्य-पूर्व आपूर्ति व्यवधानों के बीच, भारतीय रिफाइनर ने ईरान सहित अपनी कच्चे तेल की आवश्यकताओं को पूरा कर लिया है; और फैलाई जा रही अफवाहों के विपरीत, ईरानी कच्चे तेल के आयात के लिए कोई भुगतान बाधा नहीं है,” मंत्रालय ने एक सोशल मीडिया पोस्ट में कहा।

हालाँकि खरीद की मात्रा का खुलासा नहीं किया गया है, यह कदम 2019 से उलट है, जब भारत अमेरिकी प्रतिबंधों के बाद ईरानी कच्चे तेल की खरीद से दूर हो गया था।
भुगतान के मुद्दों के लिए जहाज के मार्ग परिवर्तन को जिम्मेदार ठहराने वाली रिपोर्टों का खंडन करते हुए, मंत्रालय ने रेखांकित किया कि कंपनियों के पास “वाणिज्यिक विचारों के आधार पर विभिन्न स्रोतों और भौगोलिक क्षेत्रों से तेल प्राप्त करने की पूर्ण लचीलापन” है। पोस्ट में कहा गया है कि भारत 40 से अधिक देशों से कच्चा तेल आयात करता है।
समुद्री लॉजिस्टिक्स और कमोडिटी मार्केट एनालिटिक्स फर्म केप्लर के अनुसार, पिंग शुन, एक ईरानी कच्चा तेल वाहक, जो होर्मुज के जलडमरूमध्य को पार कर गया था और पिछले तीन दिनों से संकेत दे रहा था कि यह भारत के वाडिनार की ओर जा रहा था, अब यह संकेत दे रहा है कि यह चीन की ओर जा रहा है।
वाशिंगटन द्वारा हाल ही में प्रतिबंधों में छूट के बाद भारतीय रिफाइनर पानी पर ईरानी तेल के कुछ कार्गो खरीदने के अवसरों की तलाश में हैं।
मंत्रालय ने स्पष्ट किया कि पारगमन के दौरान जहाज के गंतव्यों में बदलाव वैश्विक तेल व्यापार में आम है, क्योंकि लदान के बिल अक्सर अस्थायी निर्वहन बंदरगाहों का संकेत देते हैं और परिचालन और वाणिज्यिक कारणों से कार्गो को यात्रा के बीच में फिर से भेजा जा सकता है।
“जहाज मोड़ने के दावे इस बात की अनदेखी करते हैं कि तेल व्यापार कैसे काम करता है। मंत्रालय ने कहा, “लदान के बिल में अक्सर संकेतात्मक निर्वहन बंदरगाह, गंतव्य होते हैं और समुद्री कार्गो व्यापार अनुकूलन और परिचालन लचीलेपन के आधार पर यात्रा के बीच में गंतव्य बदल सकते हैं।” यह दोहराया जाता है कि आने वाले महीनों के लिए भारत की कच्चे तेल की आवश्यकताएं पूरी तरह से सुरक्षित हैं।
इस बीच, मोटर टैंकर ऑरोरा (नया नाम सी बर्ड) 2 अप्रैल से न्यू मैंगलोर पोर्ट (एनएमपी) पर 43,910 मीट्रिक टन तरलीकृत पेट्रोलियम गैस (एलपीजी) का निर्वहन कर रहा है। एनएमपी सूत्रों ने कहा कि ईरान से एलपीजी ले जाने वाला टैंकर 30 मार्च को बंदरगाह के लंगरगाह पर पहुंचा।
सऊदी अरब के यानबू बंदरगाह से रवाना होने वाला एक अन्य एलपीजी टैंकर, एमटी अल ऐन भी शनिवार को एनएमपी पर पहुंच गया है और तीन सार्वजनिक क्षेत्र की तेल विपणन कंपनियों (ओएमसी) के लिए 23,000 मीट्रिक टन एलपीजी का निर्वहन शुरू कर दिया है।
एमटी जग वसंत, वर्तमान में मुंबई लंगरगाह में, तीन ओएमसी के लिए 9,500 मीट्रिक टन एलपीजी का निर्वहन करने के लिए 8 अप्रैल को न्यू मैंगलोर बंदरगाह पर पहुंचने की उम्मीद है।
